INCHCAPE Shipping won the second annual Shaikh Faisal Memorial Trophy golf tournament, played at His Majesty King Hamad's golf course in Safriya.
The victors, comprising Brandon Smith, Clinton Evans, Joseph Femino and Madhu Gopinath, finished with a team score of 88 points to clinch the win.
The tournament aimed to raise money for Bahrain Mobility International (BMI). It was played in memory of His Majesty King Hamad's son, Shaikh Faisal, who died in a car accident in January 2006.
Play was over three days in the Team Betterball Stableford format. Teams of four were split into two pairs, whose scores were combined at the end of the day.
Finishing in second place with 87 points were the Project System 'group I' team of Jim Porter, Gino Gizzi, Najib Khan and Marco Cantoni. In third with 85 points were ICAP2, represented by Peter Mutti, Mohamed Ali, Sassan Sarkoob and Mohamed Al Sayed.
Hussain Salem won the Gulf Air-sponsored side contest prize for coming nearest the pin on the sixth hole during the first day of play. Abdulla Sultan won the same prize the next day, while Arun Varma won on the final day. The prize was an invitation to fly a Boeing 767 on the Gulf Air Training Flight Simulator.
A Mini Cooper Cabrio was up for grabs as a hole-in-one prize on the second hole. Nobody won the prize, which was sponsored by Euro Motors and AXA Insurance.
